Recent statistics from the ONS (Office of National Statistics) highlight that nearly 30 million of us Brits are gainfully employed.

The numbers paint a positive picture, but set against the looming threat of a triple-dip recession, job security has arguably never been so important.

It can be argued that the ongoing uncertainty has led to many workers remaining in ambition-stifling jobs. But what about you, our readers? Are you happy in your current job?

Are you content with the career you've chosen? Do you see yourself in a similar role in future? And which factors do you think contribute to job satisfaction? It's time to have your say, so let us know in the comments below.

Student. I ain't got much choice in the matter :p
Yup, thanks.

Mainly due to an understading boss that lets me do pretty much as I please.
On the whole, no.

I like enjoy what I do but I really loathe that the amount of business travel it entails.
Student and enjoying it at the moment.

What I think is important for job satisfaction is autonomy and an understanding boss, difficult to feel good when you have little control over how you do your work and things are made worse by a boss that doesn't care about your perspective.

Suck up!

Yes. For me, job satisfaction is the right balance of sufficient challenge to prevent boredome without unreasonable pressure. Plus, working on something that you are interested in to start with is a big plus.
