The Internet can rightly be considered one of mankind's greatest achievements. It is a remarkable tool that has pervaded many of our everyday lives and connected our world in ways we never could have imagined.

Being connected is something large swathes of the population now take for granted, yet our increasingly online lifestyles raise significant question marks regarding privacy. The moment you venture online, you are typically tracked, monitored and analysed, with or without your knowledge. The extent of data collection can vary, and so too can the risks, which range from something as trivial as targeted advertising to something as serious as identify theft.

It is an important topic and one that is more relevant than ever before. Appreciating the technical knowledge available to our readers, we're intrigued to hear your thoughts on the matter and are asking: how do you protect your online privacy? Always curious about Saracens Online Privacy configuration! :P

Otherwise I browse the internet normally but use Sophos Corporate with InterceptX to prevent against data theft from my computer. But otherwise general PID I just keep an eye on what sites I enter it into, I check the certs and verify the website is genuine and other basic method to ascertain if I trust the page. Otherwise your data is pretty much public domain anyway, doesn't take even half a genius to pull it out of the public databases.
The only way to truly protect your privacy online is to not put any information on there in the first place.
I use Trusteer Rapport for any financial transactions. At least for the ones it can deal with.
Bare minimum really. uBlock, https and Ghostery
