A usually reliable source of upcoming major smartphone leaks has published 360 degree video exposés of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. OnLeaks shared what he claims to be accurately rendered videos of the next Samsung S model flagship smartphones a few hours ago, along with some stills of each model.

The rendered images were produced by OnLeaks via detailed schematics from an unnamed source. It is likely such schematics have passed from Samsung to smartphone accessory makers with less stringent security. We often see designs like these leaked early from smartphone case makers etc.

Tech site SlashGear asserts OnLeaks has been “shockingly accurate” in previous instances over the last couple of years. It has also collated bullet points of the expected specs emanating from this leak and previous ones, which I have tabulated below.

Above you can see that the collated specs aren’t positive about a headphone jack but the renders do indeed show this connector (see below). We have already had hints from Samsung about the speedy and capacious storage that will be on offer in some of these S9 models. Additionally many indicators point to the processor in the ‘West’ being a shiny new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, while other markets will get Samsung’s Xynos 9810 SoC.

If you are keen on smartphone photography, Samsung seems to have taken a feather from Apple’s cap and will offer improved photo capabilities on the Plus model. This larger model is shown in the renders with a dual-lens rear camera system (see below), while the more compact handset will have a capable single lens camera. Both handsets feature a rear mounted fingerprint sensor plus 3D sensor and iris scanner.

An event just ahead of, or coinciding with, the MWC 2018 in Barcelona is expected to be where/when Samsung will officially reveal the new Galaxy S9 handsets.
