Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk developer, Neversoft is poised to dip its toes into new waters, after a job posting confirms that it's looking to recruit staff to help develop a new first-person shooter experience.

Acquired by Activision in 1999, Neversoft has so far been the driving force behind ten Tony Hawk’s games and also worked on a number of Guitar Hero titles, including Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

The job posting calls for recruits who have “FPS experience” and includes the roles of level designers, a network programmer and a senior technical artist.

Neversoft has had some experience in the shooter genre, having worked on the open-world adventure, Gun. Could this new project be a new Wild-West themed shooter? Gun 2, perhaps? After the bizarre Call Of Juarez u-turn, Lord knows we need one.

How about Brutal Legend 2? At least that'd be a way to use up the various peripherals left over from all the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc games. ;)
