The Witcher 10th anniversary

It's nearly been 10 years since The Witcher series of games began. 26th October is the date but in anticipation CD Projekt RED released a heart warming video this weekend where we visit upon Geralt of Rivia in his retirement. We see Geralt enjoying some wine, card games, and good company at his country cottage in Corvo Bianco.

The above video made its debut at the PAX West 2017 show this weekend. Several soppy viewers on YouTube remarked that the video made them cry.

It isn't known, and there was no teaser, for upcoming The Witcher games featuring further adventures of Geralt of Rivia. We do know that CD Projekt RED is working on a spinoff card game called 'Gwent'. However we hope the developers are really focussing on the exciting yet mysterious new AAA title which goes by the project name of Cyberpunk 2077.

Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar DLC

This DLC is said by EA to be "the most extensive expansion so far". If you hadn't already guessed, it features the Russian army. Buyers of the DLC will be rewarded with a multitude of new weapons, vehicles, and units, as well as a sextet of maps spanning the expansive eastern front of WWI.

In the Name of the Tzar's maps see battles between Russia, Germany and Austro-Hungarian forces but also players will experience some of the fierce revolutionary civil war battles between red (Bolshevik) and white (Imperial) Russian forces.

The eleven new weapons that become available will include the Mosin-Nagant M91, together with new melee weapons, and the Russian Standard 1912 grenade. Add to those several new military vehicles like the Ilya-Muromets Heavy Bomber, the Putilov-Garford Heavy Armored Car, and Y-Lighter Landing Craft - plus a new stationary coastal gun.

The legendary Russian Hussars will facilitate cavalry battle tactics and there will be new challenges to take on and goals to achieve. Last but not least In the Name of the Tzar introduces 'Supply Drop Mode' with frantic fights for airdropped supplies on the eastern front.

As headlined, this expansion become available tomorrow, but that's just for Premium Pass owners. Other prospective customers will have to wait for the general release on 19th September (US $15 / UK £12 / AU $25). You can see above that there are plenty of more DLCs to come.

I effin loved Witcher 3.

If Cyber 2077 is even half as good we'll be in for an amazing experience.
I haven't played the first 2 Witcher games. And I'm currently succumbed with the 3rd game.
But, that 10th anniversary video is heartwarming, it almost make me cry.
As ‘heartwarming’ as it may be it breaks so much of the books canon, though the book itself also broke some of it's own cannon for the sake of political correctness.
