NVIDIA Teams Up for Middle-earth: Shadow of War PC

COLOGNE, Germany—Gamescom—Aug. 22, 2017—NVIDIA, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions today announced they are collaborating on the PC version of the Middle-earth: Shadow of War video game. 

The PC version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War will feature NVIDIA Ansel, NVIDIA’s in-game photography tool. NVIDIA is also working with Monolith on other advanced PC features such as high dynamic range (HDR) lighting, which creates a wider range of color and brightness, making the game more lifelike and immersive.

“NVIDIA is an important partner that brings a wealth of expertise on PC gaming along with a surplus of developer resources and advanced gaming technologies,” said Kevin Stephens, Vice President and Studio Head, Monolith Productions. “We are working with NVIDIA on multiple aspects of Middle-earth: Shadow of War — from driver-based stability and performance, to cutting-edge technologies such as Ansel and HDR.”

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the RingsMiddle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action RPG that continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Players will be engrossed in a richer, more personal and expansive world full of epic heroes and villains, iconic locations, original enemy types, more personalities and a new cast of characters with untold stories, all brought to life by the award-winning Nemesis System.

This collaboration helps bring the PC platform’s advanced gaming features to Middle-earth: Shadow of War and maximize the performance benefits of the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 10-series GPUs for PC gamers. As the game’s launch approaches, NVIDIA and Monolith will continue to performance tune, increase platform stability and finalize support for features and technologies only offered on the GeForce GTX PC gaming platform, such as NVIDIA SLI™, Game Ready DriversNVIDIA G-SYNC™ monitor technology, optimized playable settings and GeForce Experience™.
