Gigabyte has announced a new full tower ATX case under its Extreme Gaming brand. The Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming XC700W has an edgy industrial design but still manages to leverage those gaming favourites; RGB LED lighting and a full-view tempered (black) glass side panel. As it should be, Gigabyte claims the XC700W is a "perfect solution for a liquid cooling build".

This gaming tower is sizeable, sporting dimensions of 593.5 x 240.5 x 546.6mm, and weighing in at 15.4Kg before you fit your components in there. Despite all this room Gigabyte has kept the front face of the chassis clean by deciding to omit any 5.25-inch, or any 3.5-inch, bays. Another surprise omission is the lack of support for E-ATX motherboards (but smaller mini-ITX/m-ATX can be fitted). Gigabyte has forged the Xtreme Gaming XC700W with a solid steel structure with aluminium shell. The tower is supported by a bolted on metal structure with rubber feet.

Cooling is always an important consideration in a high performance gaming system and Gigabyte has provided plenty of room for liquid cooling setups with radiators up to 360mm. If using air cooling only, the radiator space can fit up to 3x 120mm (or 2 x 140mm) fans. The chassis ships with a 140mm rear fan fitted.

Gigabyte's Xtreme Gaming XC700W offers 8x expansion slots, and can fit either 3x 2.5- or 3.5-inch drives in a removable bay structure. Around the back of the motherboard tray there is room for a further 2x 2.5-inch drives. On the front of the chassis you have easy access to 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB2.0, and HD Audio I/O, beneath the power/reset button and activity LEDs. On the topic of LEDs, the RGB show lighting is Xtreme Engine friendly so can be synchronised with other members of the Xtreme Gaming family.

Maximum compatibility values for your respective components are as follows:

  • CPU Cooler Height: 170mm
  • VGA Card Length: 430mm
  • ATX PSU Length: 220mm

At the time of writing we are still awaiting details on pricing and availability.

So, “tempered glass” is the new black apparently.

Not quite sure if this case would be for me, even without the glass window (and the large size).
I really like the bolted stand design for good floor clearance!
It would look decent if not for the hideously cringey XTREME GAMING up in lights
Seems to be a trend of trying to produce a fully themed package people can buy. Case, PSU, Mobo, GPU etc.
it looks like it was designed by a twelve-year-old
but then that`s the target audience i suppose
