AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.8.2

AMD only just released an updated driver set at the beginning of this week. Version 17.8.1 was the first WHQL driver to support RX Vega cards and delivered optimisations for Quake Champions Early Access and Agents of Mayhem, as well as a decent quantity of bug fixes. Now, mere days later, it is back with Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.8.2 - or RSCRE 17.8.2 for short.

Particular games optimisations delivered by RSCRE 17.8.2 are as follows:

  • F1 2017: Up to 4 per cent performance improvement measured on Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics when compared to Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 17.8.1
  • PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Early Access: Up to 18 per cent performance improvement measured on Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics when compared to Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 17.8.1
  • Destiny 2 Beta

Despite the short interval, AMD has also delivered a quintet of bug fixes, three of which impact its new Radeon RX Vega owners directly. Check out the full list below.

Fixed Issues:

  • Display may blank or go black after install upgrade with Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products.
  • Random corruption may appear in Microsoft desktop productivity applications on Radeon RX Vega series graphics products.
  • The "Reset" option in Radeon Settings Gaming tab may enable the "HBCC Memory Segment" feature instead of setting it to the default disabled state.
  • Radeon WattMan may not reach applied overclock states on Radeon RX Vega series graphics.
  • Unable to create Eyefinity configurations through the Eyefinity Advanced Setup option.

Of course issues still remain, and you can check out the official release notes to see exactly what these are. At the same link you will find direct download linkage for the updated driver files.

Nvidia GeForce Game Ready 385.41 WHQL drivers

Nvidia's latest driver set for its GeForce graphics cards include support and optimisations for Destiny 2's PC Open Beta, ARK: Survival Evolved's official release, F1 2017, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, and Quake Champions' Early Access release. Additionally, players of the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds update will benefit specifically from the Nvidia HBAO+ and ShadowPlay Highlights support.

Those with SLI setups will be pleased with new or updated profiles for ARK: Survival Evolved, Destiny 2, Faith of Danschant, Lawbreakers, Secret World Legends, and Starpoint Gemini Warlords. Whisper Mode profiles have been added for F1 2017 and Destiny 2 Beta, and an 'excellent' 3D Vision profile has been added for Pro Evolution Soccer 2018.

Nvidia only got round to fixing one issue this time aroun,d which specifically affects GeForce GTX 970 users playing Quantum Break - sudden frame rate drops in the game appear to have been cured.

Meanwhile a sizable chunk of open issues remain in 385.41. The issues are wide ranging and diverse, and can be found on page 17 of the release notes (PDF).
