Gold-plated heaven

LG's large-scale 1080p plasma with added bling

Do you want an exclusive large-scale plasma display for your home-theatre setup? LG reckons it has the perfect display for you. Take a gander.

While 71 inches of widescreen joy isn't to be sniffed at, it's not the largest 1080p-capable plasma in the world. That honour goes to Panasonic's 103-inch monster.

But what LG's MW-71PY10G lacks in comparative size, it makes it up in pure bling - it's offered in a limited Gold edition! Screen, speakers and DVD players are all 24-carat gold-plated, adding a touch of class - well, individuality any way - for the super-rich with houses big enough to accommodate such a large (1920x1080 native) screen. If you need to ask the price you probably cannot afford it. Here's hoping that my lottery ticket comes through.
