Cooler Master has written to HEXUS today to let us know that it's previously announced Cooler Master Storm NovaTouch TKL hybrid keyboard is now available in Europe. Originally launched worldwide in September, the keyboard uses an interesting hybrid capacitive touch mechanism which it is said should appeal to eSports professionals and expert typists alike.

Highlights of the NovaTouch TKL's tenkeyless design are as follows, according to Cooler Master:

  • Japanese made hybrid capacitive switch
  • CM exclusive compatibility with CHERRY MX Keycaps
  • Ultra smooth, tactile key presses
  • 45G actuation force / 1mm actuation point
  • On-the-fly Repeat Rate Adjustments
  • N-Key Rollover & Anti-Ghosting

Cooler Master provides us with a spec comparison table, as above, which shows how its hybrid switches stand up to popular alternative models. However the table doesn't include an important measurement which reveals that these are the fastest mechanical switches available.

3-5ms debounce time

In a PDF detailing the Cooler Master NovaTouch TKL's special qualities we read that the keyboard "utilizes exclusive switches that have a debounce time of only 3-5ms compared to the traditional Cherry MX switch of 19-25ms. So the hybrid capacitive switch bounces over 3X faster back to 0 and is ready for a new key press." That miniscule time difference can mean the difference between winning and losing when a game is on the line, says Cooler Master.

The delay in European launch was due to the creation of "regional ANSI and ISO layouts that best suit the needs of the European market," explains Cooler Master. The new Cooler Master Storm NovaTouch TKL hybrid capacitive keyboards are said to be available from today at an MSRP of £149.99.

hmm think CM have hit home with this exclusive switch. love the funky colour of them too. and the spec's look great, just wish it would cost abit less.
in other words - crappy regular switches + spring? looks like a money maker for CM
For £149 it'd have to be something pretty damn special!
