The ones to compare are the Core i5-6600K (Skylake) and Core i5-4690K (Haswell). There's nary a difference in the single-threaded PiFast test we've been using since 2003.

The comparison between the two is, in fact, an examination of architectures; the base and boost speeds are the same. Knowing this, we can say that Skylake is about seven per cent better in Cinebench.

Similarly, we see a near-10 per cent improvement in wPrime. These advancements arrive from enhancements in work done per clock cycle. A Haswell Core i5 would need to be clocked at 4GHz to match the Skylake performance.
