Overclocking

Small, entry-level, bus-powered cards aren't typically designed to be an overclocker's dream, but looking closer at GTX 1050 Ti's real-world frequencies reveals that the GPU has plenty of room to manoeuvre. With no added voltage and very little effort, we were able to raise core and boost frequency by 200MHz while the GDDR5 frame can easily manage 8Gbps.

It's easy to eke out an extra 10 per cent or so in terms of in-game performance, yet despite our review sample hitting core speeds of just over 1,900MHz with the overclock in place, GTX 1060 and RX 470 remain a class apart.
