If you're willing to spend the extra to outfit Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga 260 with a Core i7-6500U you won't be left wanting in terms of CPU performance. The dual-core, hyper-threaded Skylake chip is able to reach 3.1GHz and punches about as hard as a 15W chip can.

The one proviso is that fan noise becomes noticeable when the CPU is stressed, so while Core i processors remain the obvious choice for performance purists, laptops equipped with Core m CPUs continue to serve as cooler, quieter alternatives.
