Wide-load efficiency

That same Platinum rating also means that efficiency from a 240V source is going to be impressive. We actually see the highest efficiency at around 45 per cent load, peaking at over 94 per cent, and this is why Corsair can keep the 135mm fan switched off until the load reaches that kind of figure

Putting that in context, a fully-loaded Ryzen 7 1800X with GeForce GTX 1080 Ti at the graphics helm pulls less than 300W under either 2D or 3D load.

You may ask the question why bother with a 1,000W supply. The answer has as much to do with excess capacity and near-silent running as much as anything else, especially for quiet-computing aficionados such as yours truly.
