Last but in no way least was Jagex, which with over 400 members of staff is the UK's largest independent games developer.
The firm's flagship game, Rune Scape, a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), counts tens of thousands of players on a daily basis, which means Jagex has a huge commitment to maintaining up-time, all of the time.
"In this space, downtime is just not an option," said Rob Smith, Jagex's chief operating officer (COO), telling HEXUS he also believed it was the content that should be considered cool, and not necessarily the behind the scenes tech which enabled it.
Smith said Dell's servers provided the firm with a really "secure" solution, ensuring Jagex's customers could play on and on for hours without having to worry about their virtual world crashing down around them.
