New CompTIA Security Trustmark offers an internationally accepted way for companies to prove their security credentials
CompTIA has worked closely with industry security experts to develop a new independent kitemark that helps companies prove their security expertise to customers and employees.
This CompTIA Security Trustmark covers a range of business areas, from personnel security to technical infrastructure and service delivery. It provides the IT sector with a new benchmark for security competency across an entire business. It is a way for companies of any size to demonstrate that their security credentials meet industry standards.
The CompTIA Security Trustmark was developed in collaboration with industry professionals. Together they explored the most relevant security practices and IT technologies that a company should use when delivering its services. The outcome is a mark of competency that is vetted and validated by more than 1,000 senior security personnel.
"CompTIA's Security Trustmark builds on our experience of the IT sector and its needs," says Matthew Poyiadgi, European VP. "We have a strong history of helping individuals prove their security skills to employers through our industry certifications, such as CompTIA Security+. Our new Security Trustmark takes this a step further, by allowing employers themselves to demonstrate similar expertise across their entire organisation."
Businesses of any size can apply for the CompTIA Security Trustmark. The first step is to complete an online pre-application. Once this is evaluated, it is followed by a formal application process that is subject to peer review and audit. If awarded, a company's right to display the CompTIA Security Trustmark is reviewed annually.
