Press release

The Technology Channels Association (TCA) which was formed in July 2009 by the amalgamation of the Professional Computing Association (PCA) and the Mac Technology Association (MCA) has strengthened its executive line-up, bringing in a successful business entrepreneur with direct experience in the reseller channel.

Adam Harris (30) has a solid track record in building a successful reseller business and will head the association's continuing development both in its traditional areas and into new aspects of the Digital Technology arena.

Since 2003 Harris and his business partner have developed Nottingham based bear-IT and along the way gained several awards for their entrepreneurship, culminating in being announced as the midlands' Young Directors of the Year 2008, by the Institute of Directors. As well as his business interests Adam is a guest lecturer in Business and IT in several midlands universities, and holds an MBA from Nottingham Trent University. Whilst remaining a shareholder in bear-IT, Adam has relinquished his directorship in order to concentrate on his work with the TCA.

Adam Harris said "I am a firm believer in trade association membership, especially in challenging times, and one of my first tasks will be to further develop the tangible benefits, both for resellers and the channel suppliers. My objective is to make joining the TCA an essential ingredient for any business that wants to be a true success in our channels, which are constantly converging and diverging. I hope my experiences will be useful to our members".

Keith Warburton, one of the founders of the Association, takes on the new role of President, and will focus on industry issues and government, press and public relations, continuing to ensure that the member's views are heard at senior levels. He said "It has been no easy ride, creating a trade body from scratch, and building it to be a voice that is heard not just in the UK, but on a global stage. The bigger we get the more work there is to be done, and I can't think of anyone more able than Adam to share the load. Choosing him to fill this role was a unanimous decision; he is well liked and respected by all who know him."

Announcing the changes, TCA chairman Robert French said "Keith's consistent commitment to the channel over the past sixteen years has enabled the TCA to continually develop and progress. The challenges facing the industry today mean it is imperative that we ensure our voice is heard at the highest levels both within and outside of our industry whilst still retaining the ability to reflect member's needs and provide them with unparalleled services and value. These changes will achieve that and are an indication of a trade association moving forward with a clear vision and intent."
