PRESS RELEASE

Basingstoke: 5 April 2016: - Exertis, a leading distributor of technology products for the B2B, mobile and retail markets, today announced its exclusive distribution of the LG G5 modular smartphone.  Its luxurious metal uni-body chassis features a slide out battery and modular type design that enables the LG G5 to be transformed into a digital camera, hi-fi DAC  and much more with a collection of companion devices known as LG Friends.

The LG G5 offers a range of exciting and innovative features. The 135-degree wide angle lens, the widest available in any smartphone, allows you to choose between standard or wide angle lens. The LG G5’s new Always-on Display makes notifications just a glance away with the time, date and more available anytime without the need to wake the device. Meanwhile the 3D Arc Glass featured in the smartphone’s 5.3-inch display creates a gentle curve and a smooth colourful metal surface through an advanced microdising process which takes anodized aluminium to a whole new level.

The LG G5’s brand new modular design enables a replacement battery to be easily swapped out as well as a number of additional features. A versatile camera extension, the LG Cam Plus, can be attached through the battery slot to deliver a comfortable grip and DSLR-style controls to the phone, with physical buttons for power, shutter, zoom and record. When usitilising and attached to the LG G5, it provides an additional battery capacity of 1,200mAh to allow for longer shooting times. A second module, the LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY developed in collaboration with high-end audio specialists Bang & Olufsen delivers high-resolution audio playback and can be used with the phone, or even as a standalone DAC attached to a hi-fi system or PC.

Aside from the new modules LG has announced three more “Friends” for the LG G5. The first is the LG 360 VR, a VR headset that can be connected with the G5 via a dedicated cable.. The second, the LG 360 CAM,  is a compact 360-degree angle camera equipped with two 13MP 200-degree wide angle cameras, 1,200mAh battery and 4GB internal memory, which can be supplemented by a microSD card. The LG 360 CAM can be easily connected to the LG G5 allowing users to create 360-degree content. The third, the LG Rolling Bot, is a companion home security device that rolls like a ball while capturing images and videos with its embedded 8MP camera. These seamlessly connect to the LG G5 via the LG Friends Manager app.

Simon Woodman, Exertis mobile director said “The LG G5 is an exciting addition to our range, its innovative design and features have taken the smartphone to a new level and user experience. I am sure our customers will look forward to making friends with the LG G5”
