So everything's fine then?

UK PC builder Evesham has insisted that widespread rumours of its final demise are again premature.

Evesham released a statement in the hope of clarifying the situation: "Evesham Micros trading as Evesham Technology is still in business. The period of the staff being retained by the Administrators has now come to an end and Evesham Technology will now move to a direct employment basis. We are looking forward to the next phase in ensuring that Evesham Technology remains as one of the UK's specialist Consumer Electronics and IT manufacturers."

In practice, this meant that a further 30-40 staff were laid off, leaving 80 staff still employed at Evesham Technology. It remains unclear what has happened to Evesham's outstanding debt or where the funds to enable it to continue trading are coming from.

Contracted out to a third party perhaps?
We used to have a business account with Evesham, I say used to as I didn't know till I phoned today that our account manager no longer works there and we no longer have a business account as they now only do direct sales, they have no dedicated business sales at all anymore.

Also in reference to the Engineers being layed off, it appears that all existing on-site warranties have been downgraded to RTB.

As a business customer it would have been nice to have been kept informed.

Now all I have to do is find a supplier that offers XP Pro as an option. Any one know of anyone other than Dell?
How about Scan?
