Rolling news

Having told HEXUS.channel that Novatech was in discussions with the administrators of specialist UK laptop-maker Rock, commercial director Kriss Pomroy has now revealed that Novatech is not part of the contract negotiations currently being undertaken by the administrators.

The Rock website homepage features several notices from the administrators, one of which says: “The Administrators of Rock Group Plc would like to announce that they are in contract negotiations for the sale of the business and assets of Rock as a going concern.”

Pomroy gave us the following statement when asked about it: “We can confirm that those contract negotiations are not with us.”

The most likely reason for this is that the administrators were looking for more for the company than Novatech was willing to pay.

So the question is: who is willing to pay that much? There doesn’t appear to be any formal word from the administrators on the matter but wouldn’t it be funny if, after ROK acquired a majority shareholding in the company last year, another rocky-named company decided to buy it?
