Moving with the times

Motherboard and VGA giant Gigabyte has introduced and online RMA system specifically for resellers in the UK and Ireland, which allows RMAs to be requested and tracked through its partner website, itself only launched at the start of the year.

"Currently Gigabyte is the only motherboard and VGA manufacturer that does repairs locally," Rui Pereira, Gigabyte UK channel sales manager, told HEXUS.channel. "But before resellers had to email us and there was a lot of admin before the process was concluded."

Apart from making it easier to request RMAs for motherboards and VGAs, Pereira was keen to stress resellers can also track its progress and access resources like POS material on the site.

It looks like Gigabyte is trying to develop more of a direct relationship with resellers, without them having to rely on distributors as middle-men. "We don't want to run away from problems," said Pereira.
