Every new retailer helps

PC marker Packard Bell (PB) is already selling products through Tesco and will soon be offered by Comet and Amazon.

Historically, PB has been exclusive to the DSGI chains: PC World, Currys and Dixons.co.uk, but following its acquisition by Acer at the start of 2008, PB has embarked on a rebrand and a new, more expansive channel strategy.

Tesco started offering the single-core AMD powered DOT M/A notebook (or is it a netbook - we're not sure?) in some stores this week, priced at £349, although it's claiming to have been available since 8th July online . We spoke to UK country manager Sylvain Braem on the matter and he added that we can expect to see PB products sold through Comet and Amazon soon, too.

Watch out for our exclusive HEXUS.TalkingShop interview with Braem, which will be published shortly, in which he explains the PB rebrand and talks us through some of its new notebooks.
