Margin opportunity

You don't hear as much from the domestic system builder channel as you used to these days, so it's good to see a UK tech company announce aggressive growth plans.

Bigred Solutions has only been around for five years but in that time has carved out a niche in the SMB server appliance sector, offering server solutions for smaller businesses who want something that just works.

For a year or so Bigred has been running an initiative to recruit SMB resellers. It appears to be bearing fruit as Bigred has appointed Enta, which is strong in the  SMB reseller sector, as the exclusive distributor of its products.

Neil Barnett, commercial director at Bigred (pictured), said: "This is a very exciting time, our reseller initiative has now taken on a new lease of life. We will be investing and allocating a significant amount of budget to the overall PR and marketing spend in order to support our newly appointed distribution partner Enta."

Matt Davies, server and storage sales manager at Enta added: "We see this as a fantastic opportunity for SME and SMB resellers to gain great margins."

Bigred's product range is called bigredbox. It's positioned as: A server appliance solution that is an alternative to the standard Microsoft Small Business server or any Microsoft Server with Exchange," which "carries out the same applications and procedures without the huge cost attachment of licensing and certified engineers.
