PRESS RELEASE
True Hi-Fi quality sound reaches the soundbar market
London based audio specialists Cambridge have brought over 40 years of sound engineering expertise to the soundbar market for the first time with the launch of the new TVB2.
The development process for TVB2 has been exhaustive with hundreds of hours - over many months - of testing, listening and refining the design. The result is a premium product that is simple to use and subtly styled to blend with any modern décor while offering a true, refined and balanced hi-fi quality sound that allows the TVB2 to be classed as a genuine Cambridge Product.
Capable of extracting the last detail, depth and realism from movies and music alike – the TVB2 is available in October from Richer Sounds and John Lewis Stores priced at £299
As flat screen TVs have become thinner and thinner they no longer have space for good quality built-in speakers resulting in a thin, tinny, flat and lifeless sound. The Cambridge TVB2 is the perfect solution to this increasingly common problem and adds punch and impact to movies, clarity to dialogue and fidelity to music, delivering a perfectly balanced, realistic and musical sound.
Despite its discrete footprint, the TVB2 offers a wide, room filling and detailed sound thanks to the use of two 4th generation patented BMR speaker drivers – also used in the company’s award-winning, flagship £1000 Aeromax 6 speakers. With 120W of class D amplification, the BMR drivers deliver mid and high frequencies with a wide dispersion not usually possible from such a small speaker, whilst the bass is handled expertly by the 10cm separate, wireless subwoofer.
The result makes for a larger “sweet spot”; allowing listeners to sit anywhere in the room and the TVB2 will always sound great.
Effortless to use and extremely well connected, the TVB2 features IR remote learning and auto power on/off, whilst with 3 HDMI inputs - all with 4K pass through - and a single HDMI ARC output, you can connect all input devices to the soundbar and run just one cable to your TV.
However, the TVB2 is more than just a TV sound system and in fact offers a complete sound solution. High quality Bluetooth 4.0 wirelessly connects with phones, tablets and computers, unlocking music stored on the devices or streamed from services such as BBC iPlayer Radio, Spotify and YouTube. NFC one touch pairing also makes it extremely easy to pair with compatible devices. Alternatively, optical digital and AUX analogue inputs make the TVB2 a versatile solution capable of playing audio from any device.
Four adjustable EQ modes (TV, Music, Film and Voice) enhance the sound experience depending on the listening material or personal preference, proving the TVB2 to be a system that sounds superb whatever the source.
Designed to either sit in front of the TV or to be wall mounted, the TVB2 will fit seamlessly into any interior bringing an instant high quality upgrade to all TVs and giving great room filling sound without the clutter.

In more depth…
BMR drivers – TVB2’s two 46mm patented 4th Generation BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) speaker drivers deliver a wider, more room-filling sound than similarly-sized traditional speakers. The unique BMR speakers create sound by moving not just back and forward (as per regular speakers) but with horizontal and vertical vibration too, for a much wider sound stage. This makes for a larger “sweet spot”; listeners can sit anywhere in the room and TVB2 still sounds great. It gives an impressive musical performance and incredible voice clarity – you’ll never need to bump up the volume to understand dialogue again.
Wireless subwoofer – The 10cm (6.5 inch) subwoofer with ported bass reflex delivers plenty of bass slam, guaranteeing that television and movies will sound big enough to match the on-screen action. Once paired with the soundbar, the wireless sub can be placed anywhere in the room up to 10m from the soundbar, reducing cable clutter. The subwoofer level can also be controlled from the slim-line remote.
IR remote learning and auto power on/off – No multiple remote controls & clutter; once configured, the TVB2 will react to your TVs remote volume commands. Additionally if the TVB2 stops receiving an incoming signal then it will turn itself off after 20minutes, once it detects a signal again it will turn itself back on. Crucially unlike many other soundbars which can take up to 20 seconds, the TVB2 will turn itself back on in less than 3 seconds.
