Leading high-end hi-fi distributor Symmetry marks its entry into the world of high performance home theatre with the UK launch of the PowerPoint range of surround sound loudspeakers from award-winning loudspeaker manufacturer, Thiel.The PowerPoint™ surface-mount loudspeaker is a two-way loudspeaker that offers an extraordinary uniform full-room coverage through the use of a unique angled, close boundary cabinet design. Manufactured from cast aluminium, for increased rigidity, the stylish and discreet wedge-shaped enclosure extends less than 140mm from the wall surface yet mounts an outstandingly sensitive and powerful coaxial 6.5 inch woofer and a one inch tweeter to give a sound notable for its clarity, revelation of detail and low distortion.
This remarkable drive unit is designed and built in-house at Thiel's Lexington, Kentucky facility and the tweeter is the same no-compromise unit as is used in the company's flagship model; the CS7.2 loudspeaker. It features an innovative short voice coil/ long magnetic gap motor system; powerful neodymium magnets; copper sleeved pole pieces and extremely rigid aluminium diaphragms.
The higher than usual sensitivity of 89 dB allied to the high power handling of 200 watts means that this petite ensemble has excellent delivery of dynamic sounds and can create more than adequate levels of sound for almost any installation. This flexibility is also matched in the various alternative mounting positions and the choice of a variety of colours - even extending to the freedom for the customer to paint the enclosures in a finish of their own choice.
The PowerPoint™ loudspeaker is extraordinary in every way but particularly in the reproduction of imaging, space and depth helped by the greatly reduced boundary reflections coupled to Thiel's trademark phase and time coherence; an outstanding feature of this design.
