PRESS RELEASE

TV2, RRP £199.95 and TV5, RRP £299.95

Available in October 2016 at www.cambridgeaudio.com and Richer Sounds stores nationwide

Cambridge Audio has unveiled new and improved versionsof the company’s multi-award winning TV2 and TV5 soundbases featuring detailed improvements to the specification, performance, construction and aesthetic design of each of the products.

With current TV design continuing to prioritise thinner TVs ahead of cabinet space and built-in speaker quality, the new Cambridge soundbase models offer viewers a convenient and discrete, slim-line way to replace the tinny, dull and lifeless sound of their TV with a detailed, accurate and expansive sound reproduction.

Both of the new Cambridge Audio TV2 and TV5 speaker bases now include HDMI connectivity with 24bit/192Khz ARC connection for the playback of Hi-Res audio from compatible TVs.  The HDMI connector also allows stereo digital output with LPCM support.

The TV2 and TV5 are supplied with a new ergonomically designed remote control with a streamlined and easy to use interface. Alternatively both the TV5 and TV2 support IR learning, allowing them to learn the volume commands from compatible TV or Sky remotes so you can adjust the volume without having to use the dedicated remote control.

The new soundbases may be slim-line and discrete but they continue to pack a performance way beyond their size. This is in part due to a significant increase in the power output of the digital amplifier, now offering twice the power of the previous model, working in partnership with the amplifier’s new optimised signal path design.

Both of the soundbases continue to feature two patented 57mm (2.25’’) BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) speaker drivers now located in their own independent, sealed enclosure to allow a wide but accurate room-filling sound. Cambridge Audio’s expertise guarantees that both models can also deliver an impressive musical performance and incredible voice clarity.

The TV2 features an active, down-firing 165mm (6.5’’) subwoofer which complements the two BMR drivers beautifully and provides a rich, detailed bass, whilst the TV5 takes things a step further by adding a second 165mm (6.5’’) active subwoofer. The new TV2 now matches the TV5 in having twin bass ports. Whichever model you select, bass performance will be big enough to fill any room and match any big screen action, while bass replay remains detailed, tight and musical.

Both new models feature an improved Digital Signal Processor (DSP) offering both lower distortion and more processing power to be able to give either music or movie tracks a louder, crisper and fuller sound.

The TV2 and TV5 also continue to offer four EQ settings – with dedicated profiles for Movies, Music, TV, Voice – with the new version of both models now offering adjustable bass control via a new ergonomic remote control that matches the styling of other Cambridge products.

The new models look great too thanks to a satin black paint exterior and a new ‘seamless’ MDF enclosure design that ensures the case work is presented without any visible joins. Both also now feature internal power supplies allowing a neater more discrete installation.

In addition to the new HDMI connection, the TV2 and TV5 continue to offer plenty of other options including Toslink optical input and an analogue audio input, via either RCA or 3.5mm jack.  The TV2 and TV5 V2 also stream high quality aptX Bluetooth audio from any compatible mobile device via a new and improved aptX chipset.

Both models will remember up to 8 different Bluetooth paired devices. Each time you switch on the TV5 or TV2, it will automatically pair with any of the last 8 paired devices without having to be put it into pairing mode again.

The slim-line cabinets of the TV2 and TV5 also ensure that the sound bases continue to be quick and easy to position, either under your TV or on the first shelf of your TV rack.

About Cambridge Audio

www.cambridgeaudio.com

Since Cambridge Audio released its iconic P40 amplifier in 1968 the company has pursued one simple objective: to produce audio equipment that faithfully creates a pure and natural sound. Whilst our contemporaries in America like heavier bass in their playback and often in Asia brands emphasise a mid-range mix to carry vocals, we at Cambridge Audio are sold on the unfiltered, unadulterated ‘British Sound.’  We believe it’s simply the purest and most faithful reproduction of whatever you’re listening to, so you hear music exactly the way its creators wanted it to sound. We achieve this by identifying the best possible components before carefully fine-tuning how we put them together. Put simply, we use our expertise to remove the barriers between you and your music, so you can just get on with enjoying it.

We actively encourage press and consumer reviews of all our products and we’re proud that Cambridge Audio products are consistently recognised for their outstanding performance, innovation and value.
