HUMAX has today sprung a pleasant surprise upon TV viewers awaiting the arrival of Freesat+ by announcing that its FOXSAT-HDR will arrive in UK stores on November 22nd 2008.

The FOXSAT-HDR, pictured below, is the first available high-definition Freesat receiver to incorporate PVR functionality, allowing users to pause, rewind and record both HD and SD broadcasts.

The long-awaited receiver will be available this coming Saturday from John Lewis, Comet, Argos, Dixons and a selection of independent retailers at a cost of £299. Pre-orders are already available from the likes of Superfi. Users should, however, be aware that a satellite dish is required and installation is not included.

Armed with a 320GB hard-disk drive and twin digital tuners, the FOXSAT-HDR can store up to 80 hours of HD programming and features an eight-day EPG, as well as common functionality such as series recording.

Initial stocks may be limited, but HUMAX promises to increase distribution throughout December.
