HP are selling high definition (HD) Digital Entertainment Centers (DECs) in North America, Sweden and France. They’re designed to manage, record and store all your digital content.

Using the Nvidia GeForce 6600 PCI-Express graphics card, the DECs also allow access to the internet from your living room.

The high-definition DECs come with three tuners. There’s one ATSC over-the-air (OTA) HDTV tuner for the ability to pause, play and record HD OTA programming and two NTSC tuners for recording two standard-definition shows simultaneously.

The z555 model comes with a 250GB 7,200 rpm Serial ATA hard drive, and the z557 model comes with two 300GB hard drives.

More information about the products mentioned above is available in an online press kit at http://www.hp.com/go/cedia2005.
