The Oasis Flow continues PURE’s simple yet effective design aesthetic, and the relatively minimalist design certainly looks sturdy. With an aluminium frame, rubber seals and waterproof vents, it seems that the radio will be ready to withstand the worst that the elements – or careless owners - throw at it. This isn’t to say that the radio itself is lacking, though. As well as being capable of streaming internet radio over a WiFi connection, the Oasis Flow can tune into traditional DAB and FM stations, connect to an external source through a 3.5mm jack or use PURE’s i-10 iPod dock.
The Oasis Flow also takes advantage of an OLED touchscreen for input and display duties, though we can imagine that this might cause readability issues outdoors on sunny days.
PURE promise 10 hours of battery life from the rechargeable power pack, which should be more than enough for a day’s listening, whether it’s indoors or out. While we think that an internet radio with WiFi and a touchscreen is just begging for DLNA or iTunes streaming support, the Oasis Flow is otherwise well-equipped and seems to be very well built.
