AVerMedia now has available Linux drivers for its Hybrid TV Tuner range. The drivers support four Linux distributions - Fedora core3, Fedora core4, Mandriva and SUSE.
The introduction, seemingly, is just the beginning of an expansion into Linux, the company saying that although only a handful of its products are being supported at the outset, it plans support for many more over the coming year.
Jon Rainford, Multimedia product manager, AverMedia, UK, said that the new offering is a move,"in response to the demands of the Linux community as part of our commitment to offering complete solutions for the market. Linux is an ideal base for PVR solutions for the more advanced user and we have developed drivers for the most popular distributions. We plan to develop similar support for other products in our range over the next 12 months".
