One browser to rule them all?
Windows Mobile users will be well aware of Internet Explorer Mobile's shortcomings. Though various alternatives are available, notably Opera Mini, none of them seem to be perfect.
We're getting closer to perfection however, particularly with the arrival of Skyfire, a new mobile browser from Skyfire Labs. Available now in beta form, Skyfire claims its new browser to be the "only mobile browser that delivers both the speed and media-rich experience similar to the PC browser".
They're telling you the truth too. Skyfire features full Ajax, Flash and Java support, all at lightning quick speeds. It sounds a little too good to be true, so here's a video demonstration to prove it:
Skyfire uses proprietary technology to deliver web content at super quick speeds and claims the browser to be the "fastest loading mobile browser on the market".
It's seriously awesome. The downside is that the private beta is currently only open to U.S. residents. Skyfire does have plans to bring the software to other regions, and also plans to offer a Symbian-based release of Skyfire in the future. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
