Now that Mozilla has Firefox 3 ready and waiting for its desktop launch, it's taken the time to preview a concept version of its forthcoming handheld alternative; Firefox Mobile.

The following video, made available by Aza Raskin, Head of UX for Mozilla Labs, showcases an experimental UI that may or may not be indicative of the final release.

Despite being just a concept, it provides a glimpse at some highly interesting features. The zoom-out feature, in particular, looks mighty useful. Our early impressions, however, are that Firefox Mobile may be best suited to mobile devices with slightly larger screens.

Firefox Mobile should ultimately be a welcome addition to the mobile-browsing experience. Though today's offerings from the likes of Opera and Safari are impressive in themselves, there's certainly room for improvement.

cool, liking the look of this, havent been impressed with many of the windows mobile browsers i have used, i assume this will be available on it.
at the end of the day it really boils down to one main thing:

screen size - accessing fullsize webpages has always been limited by the screen size on any portable device and always will be a compromise (size v viewing area) irrespective of web browser.

What we really need is more and more webpages to be developed to take into account the smaller screen sizes (we're getting there ;) ) :)
