Enchanted Arms, Viva Pinata
Enchanted ArmsIf you’ve played any Japanese role-playing game in the past you’ll be accustomed to the bizarre nature of many of them.
Not only is the storyline totally peculiar in Enchanted Arms, but the characters in the game are also very odd.
Atsuma’s friend, Makoto is the most camp character that I’ve ever witnessed in a game - think Graham Norton crossed with Will’s flamboyant gay friend Jack from Will and Grace and you’ll get the picture. Now, I haven't got a problem with people being camp, but it’s totally over the top in this game, so much so that it distracted me from playing it and I had to turn it off.
I never could work out what this game was about, something about a bloke with a magical arm, or something like that. It was a very strange decision to include such an over-the-top, irritating character.
Viva Pinata – Xbox 360
I’m an adult so why did I spend hours upon hours playing a game that is based on a children’s TV series. And why do I get so frustrated when daylight arrives and half of my favorite animals have been devoured by a prowling Pretztail or another one of the Sours. How can tending to a garden and looking after the piñata residents be so damn addictive.
There’s something insanely surreal about Viva Pinata, but maybe that’s what makes it so alluring. I’m breeding paper animals stuffed with sweets for God’s sake. If that's not strange, then what it?
