Wii hoping for another successful year

Mario Kart - Wii
The last Mario Kart game on DS was absolutely brilliant, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what Nintendo do with the series on Wii. Mario Kart Wii will utilise the steering wheel attachment and is set to bring the mayhem to a whole new level.

Mario Kart Wii will cater for 16 players online and will also incorporate for the first time online, the Battle Mode - the only mode in which players do not race. Instead, two players choose from levels specially designed for battle mode and try to pop the three balloons surrounding the other player with items such as Koopa shells or banana peels. The last player with balloons wins!

After playing Super Mario Galaxy, it’s hard not to be excited about anything Nintendo do. Mario Kart Wii will be an absolute must-buy game for any Wii owner.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams – Wii
SEGA’s NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is the long awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed NiGHTS franchise that gave gamers the freedom to fly in a world of dreams and imagination.

Interestingly, the game will be the first to take advantage of the Wii’s weather channel. This new feature enables the game’s “My Dream” area, a customizable sand-box environment that allows gamers to capture, raise, and even combine the inhabitants from the world of Nightopia, to generate real-time weather effects specific to the territory players previously registered with on the Wii.

The game will also feature an online-enabled two-player mode allowing gamers to race and battle against one another via Wi-Fi connection. Sega claim that NiGHTS will, unlike any other game available today, deliver the feeling of flight through the innovative Wii control system. Sounds great.
