Be evil or really evil!

Controlling a mysterious figure that has inherited the legacy of the evil, long-dead Overlord, the player emerges, near death, from the ruins of the old Overlord’s Dark Tower. Only the player's actions will determine if they will rise to become the new all-powerful Overlord; it's all down to how much of a bad ass they want to be in order to succeed… evil or really evil!

Codemaster's Overlord is an action adventure set in a seriously warped fantasy world. The aim of the game is to spread your evilness throughout the kingdom, but despite its dark undertones the game is steeped in black humour and dark irony.

We'll have a full preview of the game shortly, but first off check out the interview we conducted with Codemaster's Andrew Kinzett:

HEXUS: Can you tell us the game’s storyline?
Andrew:The back story revolves around the death of the original Overlord who was killed by the Seven Lords, who have since taken over the land. You step into the role of the new Overlord and when you start the game the minion master informs you that you have to go out and instil chaos, evil and disorder across the land and take back the kingdom that's rightfully yours.

HEXUS: Can you explain the concept of being evil and being really evil and how this affects you?
Andrew:As you move throughout the game world your actions determine how the environment changes around you and how your own character develops. The corruption choices that you encounter determine the way that in-game characters react to your presence, for example: cause havoc in a local village and the inhabitants will cower when you walk past or get down on their knees begging for forgiveness. The environment reacts to your evilness and you'll see the sky getting redder and your home base, the dark tower, become darker and more twisted. The Overlord himself also visually changes depending on your which choices you make.
