Let's do the monster mash

HEXUS: Sounds as though there's a lot to think about, how exactly will we control these minions as well as the Overlord?
Andrew:The Overlord will be controlled via the left thumb-stick whereas the minions will be controlled with the right thumb-stick. You can switch minion groups via the d-pad and then send them to attack and enemy or move around the environment. Using the right trigger you can split the minions up into smaller groups and send them to a specific point or enemy without having to control them with the right thumb-stick. The minions will also be used for collecting money that can be found in treasure chests where the money can be spent on forging better armour and weapons, and solving simple puzzles which allow you to progress, such as sending them to turn a wheel to open a gate to the next area.

HEXUS: Can you tell us about the monsters in Overlord?
Andrew:There's a large variety of monsters, around 50-60 in total. The ends of level bosses, such as the Rock Monsters, are all unique and get tougher as you progress. Whenever you encounter monsters they unlock in your dungeon, and you'll able to head there to perfect your fighting skills against them. The game encourages you to use your different sets of minions in order to defeat these creatures, for example, you could lure a monster with your 'browns' into a trap, where you may have your archers standing on high ground launching fireballs, or to a place where you stealth minions are hiding ready to pounce in him from behind.

HEXUS: You mentioned the Dungeon, what does that involve?
Andrew:The Dark Tower is your home base, where you can access the dungeon to fight any of the creatures you've encountered. You also have a banquet hall, torture chamber and forge where you can make new weapons and armour for your minions. Your tower can be upgraded with items, such as statues, and even banners which appear outside and inside the building. You can also teleport from the tower to any main domain gate or save stones, so you can go back to a level if you wish.
