• Ultimate Band
This one made me sit up and listen, being a bit of a Rock Band and Guitar Hero fan: Ultimate Band is a new music based game for Wii and DS that should get everyone off the sofa and performing as a rock star to their favourite songs. Ultimate Band for the Wii is completely peripheral-free, utilizing only the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to play lead guitar, bass guitar, drums or act as the band’s front man, so there’s one big advantage it has over RB and GH right there, (though some smart-arse will probably come out with a clip-in add-on much like the golf club or tennis racket). For the DS, players will use the stylus to jam and create custom tracks, much in the way you do with Jam Sessions. Currently, Ultimate Band’s set list features rock tracks such as Whip It, My Generation, Fell In Love With A Girl and Steady As She Goes, so expect to hear more on the tracks closer to release, which is coming up pretty soon.
