Group chat and more planned

Amongst the glittering trailers of AAA titles such as FallOut 3 and Gears of War 2, Microsoft has revealed that a new dashboard makeover for Xbox 360 is planned this Autumn and will include the rumoured 3D interface.

It's also been confirmed that we'll be getting a new avatar system in which we'll be able to customise our characters in a variety of styles with thousands of purchasable items. Like Wii's Miis, the Xbox 360 avatars will also be able to be used as characters within certain games.

Amongst those avatar-enabled games will be a live game show from Big Brother creators, Endemol called "1 vs. 100", which will offer real prizes to gamers.

They'll also be a new community channel where you'll be able to invite friends to party, chat, share avatars and pictures.

Some screenshots of the new interface should be dropping in shortly.
