Tone your bodies down the gym

F4 and Infront Sports & Media are currently locked in talks with a number of 'big name' companies from the sport's world. They were careful not to reveal any names of those companies which could potentially be lending their brand to clothes and sport's equipment in the game, but suffice to say that the likes of NIKE and Adidas could be amongst the names looking to be involved. If these big names jump on board, Empire of Sports will be given a huge boost.

I went to Paris recently to visit the F4 development studios, where over 100 staff have been busily working around the clock to create this virtual sport's playground. Ultimately, the team are hoping that this new concept will take competitive gaming to a new level, grab the attention of those involved or looking to enter the growing world of esports and make stars out of those gamers and teams who become the best players. I had the chance to walk around the virtual city in Empire of Sports, to get my first feel of the game and form my initial impressions. Though there's still some way to go before the game is ready for its planned Quarter 4 release, the foundations are in place for the closed beta phase and from what I've seen and played so far it's clear to see that Empire Of Sports does have the potential to be something very special. I can see why sporting bodies and manufacturers may want to get involved further in the game (there's a massive opportunity for advertising) and how these companies may become attracted to signing up teams and players to represent their brand.

Empire of Sports is a massively multiplayer online role playing game, where thousands of gamers will interact with other would-be sport’s stars and NPCs as they move around virtual cities picking up missions, training and toning their bodies down the gym (character development), recruiting team members at the Club House, buying and trading sport's equipment, shopping for the right foods to give them a balanced and healthy diet and ultimately competing in sporting tournaments against real opponents (PvP), where there's the chance to win virtual cash, earn trophies and rise up the rankings. You start the game as a rookie athlete, building your career, developing your character's physical and natural abilities (and attributes relating to specific sports) and hopefully make a name for yourself in one or more of the sports on offer. There will be other career paths, including the chance become a coach or a manager of a team or even become a personal trainer to a potential (human-controlled) world beater.
