Right, I just want to get one thing straight before we go any further… I like stealth games. In fact, I LOVE stealth games. I’m the guy who spent three hours per level on Thief 3… I’m the guy who spent two days figuring out how to do a level of Splinter Cell without firing a shot… I love stealth games, love ‘em to bits. What’s the attraction? I suppose it’s the slower pace of gameplay that gives some relief from the frantic adrenaline fuelled action/driving/shooting games that are flooding the market. I like the planning and the sneaking, the figuring out how to get past a guard or across an open area… all of that stuff lights my image enhancers big time.
So I was quietly pleased when Aurora Watching landed on my desk it promises a balanced mixture of sneaky stealth and shooty action, all bundled up in a strong story line and played from a third person over the shoulder view as well as a top down tactical view too.
