Gameplay, Continued
An example of this is one section where I was on a level above a load of mercenaries. I could hear them moving around and talking to each other below me. The only way down was guarded by two of them, so to avoid becoming mince of two legs I had to distract them. Nearby, on my level, was the body of one of their number, torso hanging near the edge of the ledge. A few quick pushes and down he goes, the guys downstairs rush over to see what’s going on, giving me time to get down behind them and give them the good news in the back. The game is chock full of moments like this and the real beauty is that I can guarantee you that each time you play, the experience will be a little different. Though you are on a linear path through the game, how to actually complete each objective is totally up to you. You could go for the stealth option and sneak around, using the jungle for cover, freezing everytime anyone comes near. Or you could go for the stand-off weapons, if you can find any, blow everything to bits from afar and then go in and mop up on foot. It’s incredibly refreshing to play a game where you actually can bugger off and do your own thing. Who cares how you get a job done, as long as you do it?
