It IS big and it IS clever

He looks like a goblin and apparently likes gobblin’, so once again we send Nick Haywood out into the world of Tamriel in the hope the bugger doesn’t come back...

So what do we know about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? We know that it debuted on the PC back in 2006 and basically rocked the single player RPG scene to its foundations with the immense scope of the game, the variety and number of quests, the truly freeform nature of the storyline and the completely immersive world you found yourself in. Which is why The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion won numerous industry awards and can rightly claim to be one of the best games in recent years.

When the Xbox 360 version hit the shelves shortly after the console’s launch, we were treated to more of the same, exactly the same in fact, as we’d seen on the PC. Sure, this brought The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a whole new console gaming audience but held limited appeal to those already working their way through Tamriel on the PC. And this is the same challenge that the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is going to face, making itself seems a worthwhile purchase if you already played the other versions.



To this end, and especially if you haven’t played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, this PS3 version includes the Knights Of Nine expansion pack which was downloadable for the Xbox 360 and available from the shops for the PC version. This will add on another 12 or so hours of questing and adds value to the PS3 pack but again, it all comes down to whether you’ve played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion elsewhere or not.
