Introduction

Sony Playstation Portable – The PSP

If you want to keep Nick Haywood quiet for a few hours, we find duct tape a good choice… to stop him bothering us for days, we threw Sony’s latest gadget his way…

Sometimes, being a pale and wan gaming review person has it’s upsides. Ignore the diet of coffee and Pringles and instead revel in the geeky joy of getting your hands on the latest bits of kit. I say geeky joy, because brandishing the latest in gaming goodies rarely raises anything more than an eyebrow from the other half and more usually just gets her annoyed when I show off whatever it is that has landed on the doormat that day.

Disturbingly sexy in black, the Sony PSP

However, the other day was a little different as into my lap fell Sony’s Playstation Portable, or PSP as it’s more widely known. It’s not often that anything remotely techie raises more than a resigned sigh from the missus, but even she was impressed by the look of the PSP. With the US release only just gone, I was well pleased to have one to fiddle with one myself and have a look see as to what it actually does. I’ve been mucking around with this bit of handheld magic for the last two weeks, and have thoroughly delved into all its nooks and crannies, so let’s have a look and see what it’s all about.
