Gameplay Impressions
Having already championed the brilliant Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSP I'm very familiar with the dedication and effort that's needed if you want to get the best out a Monster Hunter game - anyone who's ever played and RPG should understand that. If you've been fooled by the adverts and trailers into thinking that this latest game in the series is simply a monster-bashing fest and you're expecting to just pick up a sword and button-mash your way through it you're in for a rude awakening.

Monster Hunter Tri demands your time, but if you're willing embrace it and not get put off by the huge amount of weapons and armoury up for grabs, or the continuous resoure gathering and item combining that you can get involved in, as well as needing to deal with the frustration sometimes caused through slow bouts of exploration on the hunt for that elusive creature, you'll be rewarded with one of the most addictive and satisfying adventures that you'll ever play on Wii.

First up, let me start off by saying that Monster Hunter Tri looks great, certainly the best looking game I've played on Wii. The backdrops are stunning with mountains spanning the horizon as far as the eye can see, lush jungle settings and clevery designed underwater volcanic environments, all built around a living and breathing eco-system that never fails to impress. Most importantly though it has a entertaining array of well designed beasties to battle against from the lightening fast Velociraptors to the slow but powerful Popo, the large woolly herbivorves that frequent the Snowy Mountains.
