The ultimate instrument of warfare is born, the Mobile Suit.

What’s it about?
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 is the latest entry in the long-running third person tactical fighting series. It looks to set itself apart from its predecessors by sourcing its material from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series rather than using ancient Japanese and Chinese history as its inspiration. In the game you don a variety of robotic mobile suits as you do battle for galactic supremacy against a range of bots and enemy generals.

The core gamepaly remains largely the same as other games in the series as you hack ‘n slash your way through expansive battlefields that are crammed to the rafters with enemy bots. The main objective is to take control of zones using an array of melee attacks and ranged fighting as you make your way to kill the enemy commander. It’s a tried and trusted formula that has spawned over 20 titles since the series began on PlayStation in 1997.

What do we like?
There's a huge range of robotic armour to wear so there’s plenty of opportunity to experiment and see what suits your fighting style with each suit sporting a nice variety of weapons, from missiles to machine-guns, and a range of visually impressive special attacks. The addition of aerial combat to the series is a refreshing change to fighting on the 2D plane and adds a new tactical dimension to the gameplay, while battling against the more challenging big bosses can be an exciting battle of wits as you seek to discover their weaknesses.

Gundam 2’s most fulfilling game mode is War Mode, where you face up to 4 human opponents online as you attempt to be the first player to achieve a set objective, while battling tooth and nail against a horde of enemy bots.
