Ohh..some shiny graphics but dreadful audio

Graphically, there are a number of highlights. The Golems are well designed and are all uniquely different and there are some nice water scenes, the occasional environment that sparkles, and a number of decent looking cut-scenes, but Enchanted Arms doesn’t push the power of the Xbox 360 to the max, in fact Kingdom Hearts II has far more to offer, and that’s two years old!

The audio is worth a mention, but only because it drove us up the wall! The orchestral numbers just appear to repeat over and over again like a broken record and we’ve already mentioned the atrocious voice acting. On a positive note, Enchanted Arms does allows you to switch to the Japanese language which makes for a far more authentic experience (even if you can’t understand it).

If you haven’t guessed already, we didn’t find Enchanted Arms enchanting at all. The storyline offers nothing new; it’s totally bland and forgettable and the linear nature of the gameplay and the continuous pressing of the ‘A’ button is annoying. The turn based combat system feels dated, and although RPG enthusiasts will probably enjoy it, we we’re disappointed when we reached the stage when we couldn’t skip the action. Enchanted Arms is a below average RPG that fails to add anything new to the genre. The developer’s, From Software, are well known for being the first to release an RPG on new formats (Eternal Ring – PS2 and Gold Star Mountain – Gamecube). They’ve now become the first developer to release a Japanese RPG on the Xbox 360, but that accolade will be drowned out by the fact that it’s useless.

Pros
If you like traditional turn based combat you'll have fun.
Some decent graphics

Cons
Too linear
Annoying voice acting and music
Poor story
Adds nothing new to the genre.

The Japanese might love it, but we don’t
