Droid Bionic
Motorola has also debuted the US-exclusive Droid Bionic, which it claims is first smartphone to work on Verizon's shiny new 4G network.
With a dual core processor delivering up to 2GHz of power and 512MB of RAM, Motorola reckons users can surf the web up to 10 times faster than 3G to take advantage of Adobe Flash player and HTML5.
With gaming increasingly important to smartphones, the Droid Bionic lets users challenge friends to live peer-to-peer gaming, making full use of the handset's 4.3 inch qHD screen. Its HDMI connectivity also lets people play games on their HD TV in full 1080p. For multitaskers, the phone's Mirror Mode allows simultaneous streaming of video to the TV and on the device. As well as an 8MP rear camera, the handset offers a ‘See what I See' video feature via its front-facing VGA camera.
The handset is also being positioned as a business person's phone with corporate email, remote wipe plus data security and encryption capabilities as well as Quickoffice for document writing and editing, calendar management and a suite of Google apps.
Alain Mutricy, senior VP of portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility, dubbed the Droid Bionic ‘the epitome of speed' and said: "By combining such a powerful mobile device with the performance and capabilities of Verizon's 4G LTE network, we're empowering consumers to define how they want to live their mobile lifestyles."
