James Sherwood of The Register reports:
All’s fair in love and marketing, it seems. So BlackBerry maker RIM has released a promotional video that literally takes a shot at rival phone manufacturer Apple.
The short video – which we assume was commissioned by RIM, given the quality - shows a red Braeburn-like apple being shot clean through by a... blackberry.
It’s worth noting that the apple only has one leaf, much like Apple’s own trademark logo does.
The promo – which was created by Guava studios in North America – is for the BlackBerry Storm, the first RIM handset with a touchscreen.
Although it would have been fun to have seen the apple fall to pieces after being shot so we could have laughed at the symbolism, RIM decided to sign off by saying of the Storm, “nothing can touch it”.
