To say that 2020 has been a challenging year would be an understatement. Everyone's lives have, in one way or another, been affected by Covid-19, and as we emerge from lockdowns and restrictions the likes of which many of us have never before experienced, there are obvious concerns about our collective mental health.

Speaking to friends and family, it is clear that we all respond in our own unique ways. My sister - who lives in an area still in lockdown - is thoroughly enjoying the extra family time, and it helps that my nephew happens to prefer home schooling. Dad, on the other hand, was climbing the walls and couldn't wait to get back to work.

Those of us who spend a lot of our time online will naturally reach out to the web as a place to express our feelings among like-minded individuals. For that reason, this week's question asks; how are you coping mentally? Feel free to share your thoughts using the comments facility below.

For me the lockdown was a nothing, Ive been medically retired since 2004 and have been sat at home all day every day since then (pretty much !).

For my OH Sally it was a nightmare, she did not cope at all well with lockdown. Now she is back at work as a carer in a residential home for adults with acquired brain injuries and she is as happy as she can be.

(well, as happy as one can be with having lost five residents to CV19 :( )
I work from home…. so I basically spent most of my time at home already lol

Not being able to go do the ‘weekly’ shop is the biggest thing I suppose (not picking own fresh stuff mainly) and having ventured into town for the first time due to some appointments (online shopping covered ‘shopping’)bit sad we've lost a few shops (closures) that I used to frequent, which in turn means even less reason to go into town….

Used to do the odd meal out but tbh, not quite ready to risk that yet (have some family members higher risk). The area I'm in is pretty low risk according to stats (we've followed instructions) but we're also a popular holiday area meaning it could be brought in by ‘outsiders’….
already work from home, but not used to having the family ask me for techincal support every 15 mins…
I've been no more loopy than usual, I don't work due to mental health problems but, the wife found the time a bit frustrating.
Didn't change much for me but it has been a nightmare for the wifey. Went from busy at work 5 days a week to 2 days and dead (no pun or malice intended)

Plus was not furloughed so we are officially skint now as her income was the more regular one.

But we have managed to watch enough rubbish tv to enable us to never watch any more…
