Transcend and In Win

Transcend

Transcend didn't have new products to show, and instead wanted to give us a brief history and overview of itself. It was founded in 1988 and has 14 offices across eight countries employing over 2,400 people. While it naturally has a big Asian presence, it's also big in Europe, with the region accounting for nearly a quarter of its 2016 Q1 revenue.

Its main product areas are industrial, flash cards (SD, microSD, etc.), standard memory modules for desktops, notebooks and servers, USB flash drives, Apple Solutions like JetDrive and 'strategic' products which include SSDs, external storage, body cameras, multimedia products and so on.

Transcend also spoke of its Corporate Conscience and its sponsorship of sports, schools and local events as part of its missions to encourage young people to live healthy lifestyles and to strengthen local community engagement.

In Win

In Win is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary. Part of this is the promise to release a new product every two months. Another part is the Mod in Taiwan competition which we recently covered, and yet another is the production of a new wave of limited edition, Signature Series cases, which you can see more of in our Computex 2016 coverage.

Known for some stunning case designs in the retail space, In Win has its roots in the OEM space, and this side of its business still accounts for 70 percent of its revenue. This is unsurprising when you consider it now has the capacity to produce 1 million units of simple chassis in a single month.

In Win will be putting its production capacity to use now that the winner of the Mod in Taiwan competition has been chosen. The company is going to take the winning design from UK team Running with Scissors and give it to the R&D department who will then work out how they can best replicate it at the factory for a limited edition production run, with the end result due to be displayed at CES 2017.

In Win is looking to develop itself in the industrial server space, both with hardware and software. This will complement the new industrial PC range it's now producing.
